Spam profiles on Printcasting community site

Hi,

We've noticed an increase in spam user profiles on the Printcasting community site (the site you're looking at now).

When we say "community site,, we mean the the site you're using right now to participate in discussions and read blog posts about the Printcasting project. The separate Printcasting.com site that you use to create and publish newsletters is UNAFFECTED by this problem and is operating normally.

As a result of the spam profile infusion, we've had to mass-delete profiles every day that appear to be blatant spam. Apologies in advance if we accidentally delete your legitimate user profile. Unfortunately, Ning.com -- which powers the community site -- doesn't offer advanced tools to block spammers, so we have to resort to brute-force methods.

And just to repeat -- Printcasting.com is UNAFFECTED by spam profiles. Only this Ning-powered community site is affected.
