The New York Times' Claire Cain Miller did a great writeup on Printcasting today. You can
read it on NYTimes.com, or on page B7 of the Monday, June 20 print edition.
In our interview, we made sure to also put the spotlight on YOU, the citizen publishers who are making Printcasting successful. We mentioned
Andynoise and
Wascotopia Transcript. From the story:
"A runner in Bakersfield blogs about high school track teams and then prints his posts to hand out free at meets. A newspaper carrier in Wasco, Calif., collects articles from local bloggers and publishes his own town newsletter, also distributed free."
In the end, you're the ones who make Printcasting interesting. Thanks for helping us get Printcasting off the ground and into the national spotlight.
By the way, in case you didn't notice, Printcasting is available to anyone, and not just to people in Bakersfield where it started. People are making Printcasts from all over, such as this
magazine for women of color that publisher Lakish Campbell just started in Houston, Texas.
When we see that there are a lot of Printcasts in one geographical area, we'll start a
city page like those listed here. We plan to do the same for the city of any partner we add to our network. We recently added
Denver,
San Francisco Bay Area and
Los Angeles for our first partner MediaNews Group. Let us know if you plan to do a lot with Printcasting in your city. Once there's enough activity we'll open a city page for you.
